Children and adults are fascinated with these larger-than-life creepy crawlies. Irongarden ART has designed a range of metal insects to enhance your garden throughout the year. These familiar British bugs have been handmade in our workshop in Lancashire. Each insect is the result of detailed drawings and observations of the real thing.
They are individually made using forge-work and lathe-turning techniques as well as cutting, welding and brazing to add pattern and texture to the metal. Playful ants, tentative spiders, wicked wasps and aerodynamic dragonflies - each one is unique! Some insects are freestanding, while others fix onto a metal stake enabling them to 'fly' above your border plants or near the pond.
When left outside the insects will colour and weather naturally, or if you wish you can oil, varnish, spray or paint them.
